Before and After School Care
Before/Afterschool Care Schedule & Curriculum
Beforeschool Care will take place from 7:30am to 8:30am in Kirk Hall. You may drop your child off at the Kirk Hall entrance as early as, but not before 7:30am. At 8:30am Beforeschool students will be accompanied to the Academy building to start their day with their peers. Do not drop your child off at this entrance after 8:30am, proceed to the Academy entrance.
Afterschool Care will take place from 3:25 until 6pm. Students who attend Afterschool daily will be dismissed directly to Afterschool. Students should bring a healthy snack and drink to consume at the start of Afterschool care. If you choose to use the “Drop In” feature, simply alert the school at your earliest convenience. Any student who is not picked up on time will be considered a “Drop In” and will join the Afterschool program and a charge will be incurred.
Availability and Fee Schedule: Scheduled and “Drop In” care are available each of the 178 scheduled days of school, except when Westerville cancels school because of inclement weather. On days with delays, Beforeschool care will commence at 7:30am as usual. Cost of scheduled care is $4.50 an hour with a discounted rate of $4.00 for siblings. Drop-in care is available at $5.00 an hour. Parents will be billed by each ½ hour actually spent in care.

Sample activities:
Physical Activity: Gross motor skills will be met through outdoor/indoor play and music/movement activities.
Social Activity: Social skills will be met through activities shared while working together as peers during library time. Activities will include board games, cards, puzzles, building, drawing, play dough and art activities (creating with a variety of media -chalk, crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue, tape, beads, etc.)
Study Skills: Quiet study time will be provided in order to complete homework, engage in free reading, play file folder games (promoting math & language skills) and monitored computer use will be offered to the children during the computer lab time.
Our before and afterschool care programs will encourage positive involvement promoting friendship, compassion, cooperation, responsibility and respect.
