We are small K-8 Christian school in Westerville, Ohio. We offer students the best of both worlds: the fresh, creative approach of a relatively young private school, combined with a centuries-old heritage of educational excellence in the Christian tradition.
CCCA is dedicated to providing each of our students an education based on academic rigor immersed in Biblical Worldview. Our faculty strives to equip independent learners to successfully navigate a post modern culture in which they ultimately will both glorify God and serve others. Our curriculum is built on several time-honored and research-based approaches to meet that end.
On Saturday, April 15, 2017, we lost one of our own at Central College Christian Academy. Our incredible band director, Mike Sewell, left us to be with the Lord.
Sewell has been an incredible teacher, director, and friend to many over the years. He came to CCCA after retiring from a full career as the Pickerington Central Band Director. Sewell's passion for music and teaching students was evident in all that he did, from pushing our kids to excel by raising the bar; to giving free private lessons just because he wanted to help our kids develop their passions. Mike truly cared about his students and seeing their love of music deepen.
Sewell led the Marching Tigers of Pickerington Central in two Orange Bowl parades, three Fiesta Bowl parades, four Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parades and four Tournament of Roses parades. He also led bands to perform for four U.S. Presidents. For over 25 years Sewell coached 7th grade boys basketball and varsity basketball. In 2007 he was named Teacher of the Year for the Pickerington district.
While at Pickerington Sewell was in charge of the marching band, chamber winds, pep bands, jazz bands and musical orchestra. He joined CCCA in 2015 and oversaw the band and choir programs, as well as being an integral part of the annual musical.
